Under the high skies on the Groningen flat lands they stand, the medieval village churches, in the ever changing light. Outside the world rages, inside is silence. The ascending lines in the churches create space. I render these lines and the shadows the light casts, and that makes the old walls change colours. Thus images emerge that offer space and time to experience, and that suggest more than meets the eye.<\/p>\n

The photographs were taken in the churches in Pieterburen, Fransum, Westeremden and Krewerd, all in the province of Groningen (NL).<\/p>\n
